Meaning of Red String Bracelet

Where did the Red String come from? 
The origins of the red string can be found in many cultures, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Kabbalah, and ancient China.

In Hinduism, a red (sometimes also yellow or white) thread is worn by married women on the left wrist and by unmarried men and women on the right. The red string is considered sacred and is used in many religious celebrations and traditions.

The wearing of the red string originated as a ritual for honouring Joseph’s mother Rachel, the red string was tied around his grave seven times to pour out the power of protection and luck.  The belief that the bracelet removes evil. So now, the red string can be knotted seven times while repeating a Kabbalah bracelet prayer.

In Buddhism, along the lines of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, tying a cord or cord to the wrist is common during ceremonies. The thread is blessed by a Lama (Buddhist leader) and given to students and practitioners to represent those who learned or mark the occasion of taking Buddhist vows.

In ancient Chinese mythology, the Red Thread of Fate is - invisible and binds all the people whose lives are interconnected. It is governed by the Chinese God of marriage, Yue Lao, because it is primarily concerned with the relationship between two people destined to be married.
